why do people cheat on their partners?

Because when you live a dull life it is exciting to live on the edge a little.
It usually starts with the thrill of the chase (does she fancy me) there is a lot of ego involved (am I still attractive to the opposite sex).
Then it moves on to the newness of a relationship (like it used to be with your old partner)

after a while it becomes tedious and just for the sex

then (most times it just ends) you look for someone else.

The problem with most relationships is that they start too quickly and move to a stage that restricts the social interaction of one or both partners, this leads to boredom and resentment.

Most people don't know what love is, so they don't know if they have found it or not.

I guess it's down to apathy. When you live with someone or go out with them you tend to get into a routine that may become mundane after a while. Looking at others sometimes drives the hormones and you don't stop to think what the consiquences are... it looks better, it may taste better, but it may well be a whole lot worse in the long run.

It can also be put down to immaturity. Some people especially men may think they are happy and wish to commit but then they realise they made a mistake and play away from home

Then there's the very weak who get turned by most womens heads. The ones that can't control themselves and who's actions put everyone else at risk through STI's especially Aids. If you find yourself with a fella like this let him go and thank your lucky stars you found out in time....

Personally, I have never cheated but have seen a lot of it in the past.... not everyone does it and it can be a female thing as well as male... Best to just move on and find someone worthy of your love...

because people are inherently weak and as soon as the initial shine goes from a relationship you pine for that rush of attraction and when somebody else shows them this they think that it will do no harm to cheat but it does and it always comes out in the end. karma will always come around! if you give out good you will recieve good if you give out bad then thats all you deserve in return! this is why i am not attracted to weak men they damage a relationship in so many ways not just in cheating my boyfriend is a strong simple and traditional man thay are the best because they are happy with what they have weak daydreaming femminine men ( my apologies women as well) invariably are thinking of what else they might be able to have!

Various reasons, but I can't answer your question. I've never cheated on mine and never will. I suppose because it seems exciting or because they are unhappy with their current partner.

ive cheated.i had a boyfriend but my ex girlfriend wanted me back and i still had feelings for her so i carried on seeing him for 2 weeks but had sex with him in the afternoon and then slept with her in the evening.but i chose her in the end.i think yes some people are just cheaters but i was confused.i know people that cheat and they dont even know why they do it

I still don't know and I've had it done to me twice.
Maybe the only way of finding out is to do it yourself, but then I wouldn't want to, because I feel it is wrong.
