How do you deal with people who always project their own negativity on you ?

By that I mean people who do Projection. They try to convince you and themselves that *you* have X problem when in fact they do!

Because in fact , they can't look in the mirror

If you are confident in your actions and behold your own beliefs, the most important piece of mind for you is to know they are the ones with the "problem"...It is very true the old saying " misery loves company"...some people whom have very little love or respect for themselves funnel all of there self hatred toward others, and use self defense mechanisms, such as projection, in a attempt to self soothe, make themselves feel better basically, where in reality they are scared individuals who do not know where to begin to become more self aware...Do not for a second inherit any of those beliefs, apparently those type of individuals have had faulty programming somewhere along there path in life, from others, and they chose to believe the negative rhetoric to which it obviously guides there life....This is not you....A great book or two on this is ...The Four Agreements and Mastery of Love..by Miguel Ruiz..God Bless and stay strong, I don't know if in this case it is a family, or friend, but if people around you are not supporting you or have your best interests in mind....You do not have to surround your self with such, nor should feel guilt in limiting the contact with the person. ..Opening a discussion in a respectful manner is a good start, if it is futile, move on, let them go, and out of your life if need be.......ps...you could always refer one of the above books, or even give as a gift, very inexpensive.

I have to be direct with people like that, and then tell them to get the hell away from me.
That seems to work for me.
