system mechanic is good but u better not go into it too deep unless u ve a good knowledge of registry.. coz things may get out of hand when u r dealing with registry enteries even if u r dealing with it thru a s/w

Not sure about this specific product although a lot of the things it is offering are able on the windows xp disc in the support folder. If you have already paid for it, then go for it although I would recommend symantecs home products for the same job as I know they are good quality and well supported
