Why do people say Islam is a religion of "Peace"?

Bukhari:V4B52N196 “Allah’s Apostle said, ‘I have been ordered to fight with the people till they say,“None has the right to be worshipped but Allah.”’”
Qur’an:47:4 “So, when you clash with the unbelieving Infidels in battle (fighting Jihad in Allah’s Cause), smite their necks until you overpower them, killing and wounding many of them... .

Amazing. Quote the holy books of Islam to answer people misrepresenting them as NOT containing any goals to dominate the world, and get suggested that I am trying to incite hatred against Islam, just for quoting them?
I should remain silent when people lie about these things? Are you seriously comparing Christianity, a religion that has already gone through a reformation and no longer takes it's holy text as literal (with RARE exceptions), and certainly don't live like it, and Islam, which still believes in the utter infallability of the words of it's texts and live accordingly? Islam has NOT had a reformation, but I see one coming. I love what Islam has to offer. I hope it survives the revelation of it's plans of recent years. It would be a tragedy of great proportions to lose it after excising it's plans of domination.
Attacking the people pointing out you have cancer is suicidal. Same sort of situation for Islam and it's present goals. Save Islam. Remove its big goal.

I'm also fascinated by people who insult me for quoting the verses and then expect me, no matter how large the verse, to include the whole Qu'ran, yet refuse to do so themselves to answer me. They claim it is "out of context", but ignore the fact that I suggest people read the Qu'ran and check themselves! I even suggest reading the whole thing!

I have to choose a best answer, having reviewed their profile and read their other answers and questions. Seems we have a defender who refuses to compromise her beliefs, and I understand that. I have more respect for her than the people who would destroy Islam or who defend it blindly without reading the texts it is based on. More respect than for people who lie about Islam, their own religion, just to make it "look better" to the world. They don't deserve Islam.
I believe in free speech and support Luana's conviction, even as I will fight against her goals.

008.007 Behold! Allah promised you one of the two (enemy) parties, that it should be yours: Ye wished that the one unarmed should be yours, but Allah willed to justify the Truth according to His words and to cut off the roots of the Unbelievers.

008.039 And fight them on until there is no more tumult or oppression, and there prevail justice and faith in Allah altogether and everywhere; but if they cease, verily Allah doth see all that they do.

047.004 Therefore, when ye meet the Unbelievers (in fight), smite at their necks; At length, when ye have thoroughly subdued them, bind a bond firmly (on them): thereafter (is the time for) either generosity or ransom: Until the war lays down its burdens. Thus (are ye commanded): but if it had been God's Will, He could certainly have exacted retribution from them (Himself); but (He lets you fight) in order to test you, some with others. But those who are slain in the Way of God-- He will never let their deeds be lost.

The Christian Bible is full of intolerance and religious wars. Read a Bible. Any religion can be used to a bad end, people have bad tendencies, there is evil in the world. Could your intent here be to reinforce prejudice, even incite violence against random Muslims citizens?

How can you claim to know anything about Islam, when you are so incredibly uninformed about your own religion. You say in your additional remarks::

You moron have no clue of what you are saying. You are writing here few verses that are NOT complete and comprehensive. Eg. "So, fight them till all opposition ends and the only religion is Islam", Notice, you start your verse as "So", what does that tell you?, Your verse is a fragment, there is more before that, so be realistic and read the entire Surrah, to understand the verse.You can't just pick a verse and leave the rest. The Qur'an is unique and is NOT written like the Biblical way. You have to read the entire Surra to understand the verses.

Myself my Parents Were ORTHRODOX christans and my father was preist but he felt from heart that he's not on the right way and he searched for true religion now we r Muslim and proud for been one . plz note this Quran, Surah 5:Ayat: 82-83 "And thou wilt find the nearest of them in affection to those who believe (to be) those who say: Lo! We are Christians. That is because there are among them priests and monks, and because they are not proud. When they listen to that which hath been revealed unto the messenger, thou seest their eyes overflow with tears because of their recognition of the Truth. They say: Our Lord, we believe. Inscribe us as among the witnesses".
