Terrorists are threatening and tried many times to blow up oil supplies, which could stop the U.S economy for a long time. You all know how important oil drives us all, from our food productions, their carriers, to our home the electricity etc. Don't you think the governments SHOULD SPEND more money and time on the real issues of terror targets, than been distracted to aviation so the government never look back and guard harder the most valnurable and most effective things.

You are misinformed if you believe that governments are not protecting oil fields and other vital targets. Part of the job of government is to protect the people wherever a threat may arise. From your post it seems you consider many deaths acceptable so long as it doesn't effect your ability to drive your car. Terrorism has to be fought on all fronts, and in whatever place it rears it's ugly head. It wasn't a couple of planes, it was no less than 9 planes that would be traveling transcontinental, which means large passenger loads. The deaths would not have been a few it could have easily been over a thousand. You need to open your eyes and realize that terrorism is a global threat, and they must be engaged wherever we find them, no matter what the targets might be.

We're not fighting dummies: They will hit us at our weakest points when they find that the prime targets, the ones that will make the greatest headlines, are well protected. Economic targets, as you suggested, would cause us much more hardship, but might be harder to hit effectively than the popular targets which the terrorist now pursue. I'm for guarding everything. Sending every penny we have to do it. But for that to happen in America the population most accept the fact that we're at war. A REAL WAR FOR SURVIVAL. Obviously, many Americans don't accept that view: These head-in-the-sand Americans raise holy-hell even when our government attempts simple, security measures (like tapping phone lines of possible terrorist) so to guard all possible terrorist targets is beyond our national willpower at the moment. Maybe these head-in-the-sand folks need one of our cities to be nuked before they're ready to do everything possible, send every penny necessary, to fully protect ourselves.

you are quite correct, we should be concerned with oil flow to and within the USA; however, human life is much more important than oil and so we must make every effort to prevent a tragedy from occurring in our air fleets. Furthermore, think of the PR it would make if the terrorists can say that they blew up 10 planes at once. What does this make us look like? Thousands of people in one swoop. America must be more vigilant than we are and if it requires the reduction of civil rights, then so be it!

Your worry isn't irrational in any respect. The purpose of terrorists is strictly that, to instill terror of their sufferers. straightforward fact of the priority is which you in basic terms -do no longer- comprehend in case your airplane would be hijacked. If everyone knew beforehand, there only does not be airplane hijackings. Many circumstances will come into play whilst a hijacking attempt happens: training of the team, success and information of the terrorist, and the comparable for his or her sufferers. danger of terrorism aboard your airplane is low. So low that if it relatively does happen, i've got self assurance that relatively only is a while to circulate. yet relax assured, provided that 9/11, crews have been knowledgeable on the thank you to subdue a ability terrorist.

I think what happened to that pipeline in Alaska was an act of terrorism and the Bush administration is keeping it hushed up so people won't know what a bad job he is doing at preventing terrorism.

You don't seem to have much respect for life if you feel its OK to blow up a few airplanes .Life is precious..Aviation is only one of the areas our government looks at,if you think that you are not too intelligent.

Well, plains carry people in most terrorism cases. Every passenger has got a family, and many friends. If a passenger dies in something like this ,his/her friends and family will have a huge motive to be sad... And you can never know what VIP is on the plains.. And every dead passenger is a huge loss..Of course, what you written there is bad too.

I guess..but then again..oil companies could just shut down a pipeline because they found something in the pipe and cause the price to go higher..oh wait..they did.

obviously,
you don't know what you are talking about.

blowing up planes with innocent people and trying
to committ mass murder,
is viewed seriously by people.

making it sound like it is no big deal is way out there.

perhaps, you could be on board when one blows up.
won't be your passport to allah!
