Out of the 4 names you took, perhaps tendulkar is the only batsman in the last few years of his career! Sehwag is still young, and Uthappa is even younger! Irfan Pathan is not a regular opener. So if Shikhar Dhawan performs he has a chance, but right now I dont think he is better than sehwag or sachin as an opener in ODI

If he have the talent in him. Then he will be selected. If he have to remain in the team then he should prove himself.
