Hydrocortisone might help bring down the swelling on an inflamed acne lesion, but won't do anything for blackheads. Use an alchol free toner, or an exfoliant containing alpha or beta hydroxy acids. Its also not reccomended to use for an extended period of time because it can actually cause more irritation and aggravate acne. Good luck!

Right now my skin is perfectly clear, for the first time in 3 years. It's been about 9 weeks and all my acne is gone. It is such a great feeling to wake up with clear skin.

hydrocortisone cream is to reduce redness and swelling, so it could work on a pimple.

It's also greasy and can clog your pores, double edge sword.

I use a cold compress.. which will redden the skin for a few minutes, but reduce swelling.

for a "quick fix", try a redness reducer eye drop. it reduced redness in the pimple as well.

I don't think any cream containing cortisone should be used on the face. Not sure why, but I have been told that for years by dermatologists.
