I spend at least 2 hours studying for every credit hour of class.
Some classes don't require much outside studying, but others, such as accounting and physics take 3 to 4 hours.
It just depends if you have an affinity for the subject.
So far, I have a 3.3 GPA.

average homework per week per credit hour is somewhere between 1 and 6 hours - depending on the subject and if you are good at it.
It also varies by the professor, the college and the subject.
i don't think there is any way to make a statement (or even a guess) about what majors have the most and least homework per credit hour across the US. Waaaaay too many variables.

a general rule of thumb is 2 hours outside of class for every hour spent in class. There will be alot of reading. Group projects and papers to write. So asking which majors have more or less is pointless. Some are alot of reading, some are alot of writing, some are alot of research. Just do the work.

They try to scare you and tell you it's like 3 hours per credit hour per week or something but it really isn't like that. It depends on how easy it is and how well you learn. I personally get by with minimal studying because I go to class. I've learned going to class and taking good notes is key.
