You could not be more correct. The problem is that most of the governments are not what they appear to be, but are in fact agents of the very rich people who own the corporations, the banks, the Federal Reserve, The Bank of England, the oil companies, and in fact most of the world's wealth.
They are not normal people, like you and I , but have a greedy streak which causes them to always want more power and money.

It is up to us, the normal people, to educate ourselves better into the true agendas of the various political parties.
For me, any party whch wants to have anything at all to do with any war is a no-no. In this day and age, war is uncivilised, and we are supposed to be civilised people, so the only party which will receive my vote will be one which categorically states that it does not support war in any way shape or form. Let's get past these greedy war-mongering controllers, and lets build a decent society

Your question is good, but do you think any nation has the courage to step back? The enviroment and pollution is used for rhetoric and nothing is accomplished...Kyoto Accords were a waste of time....fuel crisis, better look at the politicians that have had ties to the fossil fuel industry...oh, my gosh!...it's George and his buddies...there are numerous gas and oil reservoirs that are untapped and while there are limits...the crisis or supposed crises mandate a war and that lines the pockets of companies like Halliburton...oh, my gosh, it's **** Cheney and friends...health problems are more serious. The government gives grants to projects that have no merit (one researcher got a grant to study supermales of the blue-headed wrasse-a small fish of no commercial value that live around Florida)...wasting money that could be used for health...but we waste money studying esoteric things that have no value to anyone....read the headlines today..."Childhood isolation may affect health in later life"...yes it may do, but I think Avian flu is more of a pressing issue than a rhetorical thought. Food is a different matter and our aid must be directed at making sure it really goes to the needy instead of being sold into the black market and lining the pockets of many corrupt administrators in other countries. We need to take a serious look at the way things are being done.

We really think they should.
However, unfortunately, the latter options are indeed more profitable than the green issues. A healthy country do still need more fundings for developments within the country and lifting the living standards of people and to educate them.
Therefore, I would say it is still a chicken-and-egg situation. We will just need to find a balance to the 2.

I agree, but their is too much hatred and jealousy and ignorance in this world today.

Hopefully our generation will make up for the current generation in power's mistakes.
