I don't think even David Lynch understands it...

Don't eat the puppies...

A guy has an affair with a lady; gets her pregnant; has dinner with the folks, and the barking, bleeding cooked puppy indicates that the lady is pregnant; they move to a small room in the city; the baby is always sick and cries; the man cannot sleep and realizes what a nightmare his life is, and starts fantasizing/hallucinating. I think he goes crazy in the end...

It has been over 25 years since I last saw the film (stoned, of course) at the Nuart Theatre.

I saw this movie about 25 years ago. It was creepy without being scary and when it was over I puked. It is a disturbing film that I never, ever want to see again.

The dude is not too bright and he fathers a mutant baby...it was that image that stuck in my gut until I threw it up.

Do U mean David Lynch's movie ....

There is nothing to explain, it is just a bad dream,
a nightmare. The girl is pregnant and she is bearing
a monster. A "kid" no one wanted.

it's not meant to be understood...there are philosophical points made, if one sees them, but I think it's more a collection of scenes and images meant to create a mood...in this case, intense unease...David Lynch (the director) has pretty much made a career out of doing just that...even his best plotted films, and I put Blue Velvet at the top of the list, are more about imagery and ideas than strict storytelling

It is like Zen koans. Not a story but a way to make you change state of mind.

-Zen Master Unmon said: "The world is vast and wide. Why do you put on your robes at the sound of a bell?"

It's more about creating a disturbed mood in the viewer than about telling a story.
