Everytime someone makes a comment or asks a question that others think is racist, they will call them ignorant. just becuase you dont agree with their opinions, theyre ignorant? thats pretty childish. some people dont like cats, does that make them ignorant? No, they just dont like cats. everyone has their likes or dislikes, you cant help what you do or do not like. Plain and simple. I don't like anyone who is not white, and I am very educated. I get alot of people calling me uneducated, just becuase I dislike certain people. They are the ones who are ignorant. Pathetic.

patches0528, I guess I must be ignorant afterall, because I don't quite see how I contradicted myself. I said I don't like anyone who isn't white, non-white people are certain people, are they not? So how is that contradicting myself? is that the best you can do to at trying to prove me ignorant. Even if I am ignorant, thats still better than being a dumbass such as yourself.

The definition of the word ignorant is "lacking knowledge" to be "unaware".
It does not matter how many degrees a person has--if they are a racist they have closed their minds to an entire race or races of people and the knowledge, talent and culture they bring. Therefore thay would be "ignorant" in that regard.
The very nature of racism is to believe one is superior for no other reason than the color or background of other human beings.
While you maybe educated via "school" you would be un-educated (ignorant) regarding whole populations of society.
Worse --the very nature of prejudice lends itself to false ideas of the people in question because of the ignorance of racism many things get "made up".
Just the fact that you make your arguement by using Cats as an example is is sad. Racism is not just about an "opinion" it is a way of being that is dangerous and has caused un-told harm through out history.

Ok, you explain yourself to some degree. It doesn't make any sense to me, though. I just don't understand how anyone can find themselves superior to other races. What causes this? I know so many wonderful people who are from other races besides my own.
Let me tell you some people who I do not like:
I don't like pedephiles- I don't like violent people- I don't think people should have anymore babies if they have one that is born addicted to drugs, etc...
I do not care for these people for reasons. To just not like someone because they are a different color than I am doesn't make any sense to me. How can you not like Bill Crosby? Oprah?
They do a lot of good in this world.
When I was in first grade, I didn't even think about other peoples skin tones until the teacher pointed out that there were 'yellow, white, brown, black, and red people' They might look different but we all played together and had good times. Perhaps if everyone had an accepting nature as young children, the world would be that much better.

So I noticed you said you dislike "certain people". Yet you also say you don't like anyone who isn't white. Wow. You were able to contradict yourself in just one paragraph. That's ignorance. Not only that, but I'm sure your reasoning behind not liking these groups would be based on stereotypes and your experiences with certain members of these groups. You then broaden these experiences to represent the entire group as a whole, which is also ignorant considering everyone is an individual person has their own charachteristics. Oh, and since you and I are both white, we must be the same person, right? Yeah, you're not ignorant at all.

Usually something that sounds racist is based on ignorance or a wrong idea. Since there is not such thing as enlightened racism, being anti-racist is definitely the most civilized point of view. As far as people on agreeing on opinions, there will be many who will not agree with everything. NOT agreeing does not constitute ignorance. Making false, ignorant, antiquated statements does.

if you try to look for common grounds with other races, you might be able to soften your stance a little.
racism is ignorant given the fact that racist do not take time out to find out about other races that they express reservation or hatred for. most times racist conclusions are based on a lack of understanding of the divine concept of variation, which puts color and fun to all things and removes the mono/singular color that racists prefer. that would explain why most are called ignorant.
education is not a proof of lack of ignorance. if you dont know about something, then you are ignorant. its not an insult, its just a confirmation that you dont seem to know what you are talking about.

Perhaps you are right. It is just amazing that in times like these, people still find the time to find reasons to be againts unity instead of for it. You are right though, just because you don't like any one outside of your race doesn't mean that you are ignorant, just missing out on what could be.

Some people are ignorant. Noting so, there must, therefore, be people out there well informed to decide a "racist." As long as you're informed...

Both arguing sides on this issue are childishly ignorant and rebellious. I listen to both sides and say "So noted...." and I
move on from there.
My beliefs on the interracial issue are mine and not for public forum debate.
