Anyting you've done or any nice surprises done for you?

I was standing in a traffic signal light waiting for the green for pedestrian, when I noticed an old woman standing besides me waiting to cross. On the green signal, I offered her my hand to take her accross the streets which she appreciated very much.

When we were on vacation, the car broke down. A few minutes after we lifted the engine hood, a local man stopped and asked if we needed help. Then he went home and brought back some tools, drove us to the auto parts store, and let my BF use the man's tools to install the new part.
It turned our trip from a nightmare to a very fine experience.
What things do I do? One is to give compliments to employees of businesses where the service is good... I don't just thank the workers, I also tell their managers how much I appreciate the good staff, and give their names; or I write to the company. I also leave good tips and sometimes a little handwritten note, especially where it's obvious that business is slow and the server might be having a bad day.

I had jest left the supermarket & loaded my plastic bags on the handlebars when my container of fresh strawberries spilt all around the store entrance. I was in shock as the cashier that had rang me through a few moments earlier came out of the store, helped me police up the strawberries, tossed them in the trash & like magic promptly ran back into the store & back to the front, handed me another fresh strawberry package with a big beautiful smile & said 'Have a nice day'. It happened 10 years ago but her 'random act' will never be forgotten.

I know there are 2 books written about the topic, with that exact title "Random acts of kindness" 1 and 2. Many stories in the books.

I was alone in a restaurant, having a salad and reading a book. When I went to pay, I found out that it had already been paid by the couple across the way from me. I didn't know them and just smiled at them as I sat down. What a deal!!

I had run out of gas on the way to work one day so I pulled off to the side of the highway and popped my trunk to get my gas can. The can was empty. >.< So I started my walk to the closest gas station, about four or fives miles down the road. About two miles down a trio of lovely ladies stopped and gave me a ride to the station and back to my car. They were wonderful for giving a complete stranger such aide.
