It's a bit chilly in the morning here in Madrid, but unfortunately we haven't had any rain. Will trade you some Spanish sunshine for some rain, especially for Galicia to put out all the intentional fires that have been started. Last summer it was Portugal burning and this summer it's Spain. Stop please before we have nothing left but ashes.

What do you mean? What's happened to summer? I was just thinking, while looking at the rain pouring down, that this is a typical English summer.

I think that they blame it on Global Warming - but beats me why they should call it that! We're in Cambridgeshire and it is chucking it down here, too.
They did say that the ice-caps would melt and cause flooding - and we're on the edge of the Fens! Worrying.
Do you think that maybe the ice-caps have started to melt, been sucked up into the sky and are now falling on us as rain?

It's strange that. It sometimes DOES rain during the summer, and occasionally it DOES cool down a bit too.
Something to do with the weather I believe.

Same here in Germany.
Doesn't it make you want to pack your bags and follow the sun? This is August, and we have a roaring fire going on in our livingroom fireplace. I never complain if it's too hot...that's better than this.
On the OTHER hand, I always say better too much rain than too little. That's scarry.

Yeah! I wondered that! It must be that we are getting the tail-end of another hurricane that is about to hit the florida region yet again! Or, it could quite possibly be the El mino phenomenon!
