This is a serious question not meant to be taken as a racist one. A lot of black women have a distinct odor coming from what I think is their hair. Is there a particular product that they use in their hair that gives off that smell??

I don't have to try to smell the odor, it's THERE!! Anyone who acts stupid like they've never smelled it is a chicken sh|t liar.

Now there's a difference between odor and scent. More commonly what you're smelling is a scent and not odor. (Unless every black woman you've come in contact uses the same product). Of course everyone has a unique scent and different textures of hair require different types of treatment for management and styling. Now what you're possible referring to is relaxed hair or straightened hair which scent smells the same on anyone after treatment (unless you know how to care for your hair after perming).

So it just really depends on how they're styling their hair, and what products are being used that gives a different scent.

It's probably the products that they use. Black women don't wash their hair often because they straighten it every time they do so the heat drys it out and makes it all brittle and dead looking. so you're probably smelling a combination of sweat and products. On the other hand they don't have a reeking kennel smell just becuase 2 days have gone by and they have not washed their hair. black women can go as long as a week believe or not without washing their hair and they wont have an odor. whites on the other hand have to wash their hair often to avoid that kennel smell.

Holy lack of self belief, batman! solid lord, you have subjects. My boyfriend is black, i'm white... yet that has no longer something to do with our courting. He replaced right into a super buddy of mine and it became into love. we are the two in college mutually and he's spending his summer season in NYC doing an internship with a publishing enterprise so methinks the interest ingredient isn't a situation. some human beings are losers. some human beings at the instant are not. Race has no longer something to do with that, and people who insist it does are in decide on of a strategies test because of the fact something is screwed of their heads.

Black people's hair is usually really different from white people's hair so they would use different hair products.
I know what you're talking about. I think hairspray designed for really curly hair smells different than the stuff for straight or wavey hair.

Know exactly what you mean - malay girls too have their distinct body odor - it's not offensive at all, infact quite seductive. I think it's hormonal and diet.

Conversely, and as a point of interest, to black people, whites have a peculiar odour as well.
