Parallel universes theory was invented by physicists in the hectic period of the 1950's and 1960's. It appeared as a new way to make concrete and rational some of the bizarre findings of quantum physics and general relativity. These findings aren't comprehensible without a new vision of reality. Instead they appear as problems. Nothing in our previous thinking about the physical world will make these problems go away.

Parallel universe theory mainly sprung up as the result of Schrodinger's famous cat experiment which explains that can be different histories for an event. Parallel universe is therefore an alternate reality of our universe- an example could be where humans are still the stone age warriors of old. Parallel universe does belong to quantum mechanics but it has not been proven practically of course. A better insight could be given if you would post your message on astrowhiz at Yahoo Groups!

Parallel universe or alternate reality in science fiction and fantasy is a self-contained separate reality coexisting with our own. This separate reality can range in size from a small geographic region to an entire new universe, or several universes forming a multiverse. While the terms "Parallel universe" and "alternate reality" are generally synonymous and can be used interchangeably in most cases, there is sometimes an additional connotation implied with the term "alternate reality" that implies that the reality is a variant of our own. The term "parallel universe" is more general, without any connotations implying a relationship (or lack thereof) with our own universe.

My understanding of this theory comes for the movie "What the Bleep". In the movie it explains how the smallest particles that make up atoms, are electrical charges that constantly pop in and out of existance. The atoms that make up everything are not even really there half the time. Parallel reality was mentioned when the question of, "Where are these particles when they are not here", was brought up. This doesn't really explain anything, but it does suggest there could be another universe or reality.

no matter if the hypothesis (no longer theory nor actuality) of Parallel Universes is actual, your wondering that aims actual happen in parallel universes is definitely unfaithful. reason being - most of the activities (no longer all) that we see in dream are too diffused & Universally unlawful to be even remotely present everywhere. for instance - In a dream, I see myself going interior a Federal reserve us of a progression yet when I enter i encounter i have actual entered a huge, crammed, suffocating pumpkin and on suffering my way out i encounter i replaced into interior an Apple's i-Pad actual no longer Fed progression or pumpkin. that's merely the sub-wakeful recommendations playing tricks.

Google string theory (or as it is more correctly known as, M-theory) - it includes a parallel universe theory, the kind reminiscent of science fiction. Enjoy!

Actually, there is. It is called the string theory. Simply put, there are small "strings" that connect all atoms, electrons, etc. Those strings have been theorized to affect "parallel" universes.

Do a google on it.

Have you tried using a search engine to look this up? You might be better off than asking on this site. I would find it hard to believe that there isn't a theory like that.

I think I can give you a better understanding without all of the scientific mumbo jumbo that scientists enjoy using to confuse the crap out of people. Every decision you make results in an alternate reality in which you made the opposite decision. Let's say you decide to walk to work instead of drive. In the opposite reality you decided to drive instead of walk. Your view of reality is different from the view of the opposite you who decided to drive. However you both will end up at the same destination, most likey at different times, and will result in different outcomes. The reality in which you decide to walk to work results in a reality in which you get fired because you're late. The reality in which you drove to work allows you to keep your job, and make more money. In one reality you end up broke and looking for another job, and in the other you make more money and keep your job, which also boosts your self confidence and allows you to confront a girl and go on a date. In the opposite reality you end up looking for another job, stay broke for a while until you find one, and lose your self esteem resulting in possible addiction to alcohol and drugs. And all of this because of one decision. Think about how many decisions are made daily and how they could be split into alternate realities. It would result in an infinite number.

There is also a theory that says there are 11 dimensions. Within each dimension is an infinite number of realities affected by simple decisions made daily. The question is , can a person jump from one reality to another? Let's say that the you that decided to walk to work realized he made a mistake and wants to jump into the reality in which he drove to work instead of walked. If this happened he would most likely be disoriented and may pass out. He would not know who the girl is he is with and would not know how he ended up getting so much money. The alternate reality of the bad decision to walk to work collides into the reality of the decision to drive to work resulting in confusion for the self that decided to walk to work. The self that decided to drive to work is pushed into the bad reality of walking leaving them both wondering what the hell happened. This may be an explanation why bad things happen to good people. You only have your other self to blame..lol
