A 29" long baby would, on average weigh between 18 lb. 4 oz. and 20 lb. 11 oz.. Normal would be between 15'14" and 24'3". So, she's above average but still well within the normal range. See sources section below. This is the newest growth charts--the first ones ever based on babies who are known to have been well-nourished. Earlier charts were based on large populations of unknown nutritional status, at a time when overfeeding was considered to be a good thing.

Umm I'm not sure....my best friend has twins and they weight about 22 lbs at 9 months and they are very chubby but both her older boys were very chubby and now that they are older have thinned out completely. Chubby babies are the cutest. My daughter was the chubbiest and is very thin now at 4. No need to worry at this age.

NO. Babys need the weight for several things. As long as your baby is being checked out by a doctor on a regular basis, you have nothing to worry about. The weight will change once you start with solid foods. (Healthy is the way to go then)

don't sweat that....she will burn it all off when she starts running around. I have a really big baby too and now that he is walking he is slimming down.

Just to give you a point of reference, he is almost 30 pounds and is 18 months old. He was about 22 pounds around 9 months. The weight gain will slow down drastically when she starts moving around

No way my 9 moth old was 25 pounds at 6 months we dont know how much he weighs now his appointment isnt till the end of the month not only was he bigger than your baby at 6 months he's taller so all babies are different and dont think to much about percentiles they mean nothing unless your baby is aneroxic. its so funny my sons doc cant bring herself to say he's fat when he is she always says o he's so healthy

PLEASE! Don't worry about her being overweight! My son was 22 lbs at 7 months old, the pediatrician said he was "obese" and then went on to say that it wasn't a health risk...but it will be hard for him to be an "obese teen". JERK!!! I took him back for his one year check and he was just under 23 lbs...his height caught up w/ his weight....don't worry, your baby is fine!!! I'm sure she's adorable!!! As long as you're not feeding her junk food, she's just a healthy baby girl!!! ENJOY her while she's little..they grow up FAST!!!

That's a question your pediatrician should answer. And as your baby is 9 months old, she's due for a visit at that age anyway. Just ask when you take her in.

How much did she weigh at birth? All babies are different. Some are chubby and cuddly while others are just slim. Boys tend to be bigger than girls but your daughter will even out as she gets older.

My son is 8 months and he weighs about 20-21 pounds. He's pleasantly pudgy, but I certainly wouldn't call him fat. Unless you're feeding your baby pork chops and rootbeer, I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Your pediatrician should tell you, each time you go, in what percentage is your baby ,... if she's in the average,..low... or high... so,.. she or he should've told u that on the 9 month check up... i suggest you call the pediatrician and ask him/her ... they know best your baby than we do... :)
