The birth father of Superman is Jor-El of the Planet Krypton. However, the father that raised him to fight for truth, justice, and some other stuff is Jonathan Kent. He, in my opinion, is the real father. (Not to fault Jor-El, for he did perform the greatest act of love for his son by shipping him off into space, but being dead does keep you from being a father of any kind.)

Jor'El, a scientist on the planet Krypton. My suggestion would be to watch the original Superman, so you can watch the unbeatable Marlon Brando give a brief, yet excellant performance as Jor'El.
