I don't understand why but there is an appeal about him to so many people. I hear he has a very big fan base. My feeling about him is that he is very creepy.

He is creepy; and an expert manipulator. This is essentially how cults are started and how he was able to start and grow his "family", certain types of people with certain types of personalities seem to be naturally attracted to what appears to be an enlightened, confident leader, a person who is, in reality, a psychopath. These types of people most likely constitute his fan base.
Though, interestingly enough, before his arrest and conviction he had released an album, so a small number of his admirers may simply be music fans...

Ha. My dad has his autograph. lol. Charles Manson put out a cd. Some people believe he is innocent, because he never REALLY killed anyone. He just ran a cult, and "talked" people into killing, and doing all of his dirty work.

charles manson . has on different times came up for parol and in his own words states prision is his only home and dont want out in my opion he is now up in age and dont need out he is originaly from charleston.w.va. and dont need out in souiety in my opion?

People like him because they are f-ing stupid. They do it for the shock value. I guarantee that come face to face with him most of them would jump out of their socks in fear.
