How do I get my husband to start wearing socks???

He says to my "I don't like socks, they irritate my skin. And there isn't anything you can do about it." and thats nothing, he DOESN'T EVEN WEAR UNDERWEAR, only on Sunday!

Perhaps he doesn't wear socks around the house? Does he wear slippers? If he's not wearing it around the house and this is bothering you, I'd say let it go.

If it's with shoes, pehaps you can explain to him the sanitary aspect and tell him that accumilation of sweat and oil from the feet will ruin the shoes, socks must be worn. Find out why they irritate his skin -- does he wear fresh ones? Are they all cotton? Sometimes people get irritated if there's too much synthetic blend.

I'm not even going to comment on the underwear thing...

I like the tile the whole house in the winter idea . Except , you would also freeze your little toes off.Throwing out all of his shoes---> how's he going to go to work with out shoes? Bad idea. Polishing his toe nails red while he is asleep---> is funny . Finding some that are made out of something that does'nt irritate him---> most reasonable answer yet . Maybe he is allergic to elastic , which i believe is what makes the little ring around your ankles . Go to the store & buy all different kinds of mens socks , ask him to do you a favor & try them all until he finds a pair that doesn't bother him to wear . When he finds the pair that is good , go back and buy a ton of that kind !!!!!

The man wears underwear on Sunday...cut him some slack. He's really trying. In New Zealand, most people go around bare foot, and in shorts, quite a bit of the time. I always sleep naked, except I like to wear socks to keep my feet warm. That's how I told my wife I want to be buried when I die. I hate the feeling of clothing on my skin when I sleep, but I like socks, because if my feet stay warm, my whole body seems to stay warm. If I was a woman I wouldn't wear a bra. I wouldn't care if my boobs sagged a bit as I got older. I would ask my honey for a boob job, and he would let me have it, because he would want me to be nice and firm. How did I get off on this tangent?? I'm sorry. Really. This happens to me quite a bit, but no excuses. Sorry. Geez...........

LMAO...sorry I'm so sorry for you. Well see if you can get socks that won't irritate his skin...cotton usually doesn't bother anyone at all, make a bet with him, do something he always wanted you to do if he'll wear socks every couple days and underwear. He has to get used to wearings socks and undies first so introduce him to it like you would a baby. Boxers are great for those who like being comando.

put some ice cubes at the foot of the bed on his side under the sheets. That'll freeze his toes and make him want to wear socks.

I don't really see that it is his problem here. You need to ask: "Why does it bother me that he doesn't want to wear socks or underwear?" Or better yet: "Why is it more important to me that he wear an unnecessary article of clothing than he keep his sensitive skin healthy?"

Give him a smell of his shoes after he has worn them without socks all day! Socks are to absorb perspiration, they get washed everyday (or should be), shoes cant get washed as easily!

I say leave him alone. If he doesnt like to wear them, I would except that. You wouldnt want to wear girdle all the time would you?
