Well, chemistry is a complicated and difficult subject. It needs to take a long time to completely understand. My advice to you is spend more time on chemistry and try find information in the Internet. Try not to spend money on those chemistry books as those information you can get from the Internet will be more detailed and useful than the book.

A couple of tricks.
1. Copy your notes when you get home, EVERY day.
2. If your teacher assigns 5 problems for homework, work ten, 15 would be better..
3. Ask you teacher one question each day during class.
4. Always read one chapter ahead of what is being taught.
5. Get an extra study guide with problems (Barnes and Noble or equivalent) or ask you teacher for extra problems to work.
6. Never hesitate to ask the teacher for help.
7. If you are assigned problems on Monday that are due Friday, do them by Wednesday morning so you can get help before Friday. NEVER wait till the night before.

You can study chemistry by first clearing and making your basics strong. Nuy a book that promises that or a teacher who can build up your basics..
Then go in for advanced stuff.

Your question is too vague - the key to learning and excelling at chemistry is to be commited to it and take the time to 'understand it' - science is very logical, you start with the basics, and you build on them.
