People of certain religions believe in reincarnation, and I respect that.

There's something about popular culture regarding reincarnation that irks me, though. I think that when people try to "prove" a past life by "recalling" memories via hypnotic regression, they're just making things up. Consider the fact that thoughts can easily and subtly be suggested under hypnosis (especially under a biased hypnotist), and false memories can be as vivid as "real" ones. For this reason, there is recent doubt regarding "repressed" memories of abuse suddenly reported by a person.

In the mind, there is really little distinction between real and false memories because memories are mere representations, not exact copies of real experiences. If you want to believe in something so much, to the point of making it real, if only in your mind, then it's just deluding yourself.

Yes i do believe iin reincarnation. I have a few reasons why, and noone talked me into this belief. I know when i studied metaphysics about fifteen years ago, i was led, by something, and i have read, and observed situations where a person , a regular american person, has a memory of a life elsewhere, their children etc, and it is so facinating when a person who was born here in California, has a memory of their life in Ireland, their family, their children the names, the secrets, and then to go to Ireland and meet peoples who aere in their seventies and eighties, and say that you are their mother, and you are 30 years old,
this has been documented many times, and the families of the reiincarnated people are convinced as they were told the most intimate details of the life they shared.

I hav read many stories on this,
i also believe that reincarnation is the one process that makes the most sense to me..

We, who want to be with our god, have to be pure, in spirit, clean and sin free, and in order to achieve that we must learn certain lessons, and if we do not, we have to be reborn, and start all over, go back to kindergarten of life, and relive llthe life we screwed up,,and some of us are real fllunkees, and need to repeat and repeat,,,then once our spirit learns the lessons, and cleanses thy self, we go on to another level, and so on,

I am christian, i belief in Jesus, and the christians do not believe in reincarnation,, i say it is in addition to Jesus, not instead of,,
i just know, somehow i know as sure as i know that their are stars in the sky,, i believed we do get recycled..
we usually just don't remember the past thousand years or so

Yes they are lovely flowers and I really enjoy the various colors too.

Seriously now. This means you can come back as anything !

If this were possible then some people who were reincarnated would have to have come back as a fly.

Now who would want to be a fly?

You start life as a maggot on a dog turd become a fly, eat crap, your so stupid you will try to mate with an in spot on a napkin and then die in three days.

:o)

Hi...i'm studying psychology too but nope i don't believe in reincarnation altough i believe in a better afterlife. Sometimes i think that these believes are a way of boosting a hell of defence meachanism of grieving.. We try to rationalize death by believing into somthing like this. It has always been like this...remember the archetypes that Jung talks about...one of them is death.
Focus and study tarot cards...they are all about archetypes.
A little theory....work on it and try to find what others think about it.

yes - most hindus believe in reincarnation. I, myself, am a little skeptical about it - do you ever notice that everybody thinks they were a bigshot in their past lives? Nobody ever says they were a goat herder in a past life - they were all Julius Caesar or Cleopatra. Now how many Cleoplatras are currently alive? Probably every new age knucklehead in California was Cleopatra in a past life -- at least all the women and the gay men. I'm surprised nobody says they were Fred Flintstone in a past life. He was famous. And he always had a yabba doo time a dabba doo time - it was a gay old time.
