Greeks no body love, only own self,
Greeks hate all neighbors
Ancient Greek language was common language in Ancient World, not Greeks. People who come and live in Greece are not Ancient Greeks, they take common language and use how own. Athens and Spartan language is not same like Greek.
Greece was under Turkish Ottoman Empire, and they have more Turkish heredity than Ancient Greeks, look at them music, food, they look like Turkish.

The Turkish Ottoman Empire oppressed the Greeks and others
for Hundreds of years. Even today the Turkish Governmnet continues to harrass the Greek Church HQ in Istanbul.
Its not just Greeks and Turks, but Armenians and Turks, and
Kurds and Turks just to mention one or two.

Hello Neda!
I am Greek and believe me I have nothing against turkish people. The problem is with the politicians. That is my opinion and the opinion of the most of greek people.
Last year I've been to Berlin and I have very bad memories from the residents. They were rude and they didn't help me at all as I was searching some streets etc.Only two persons (in a different point of city each other) helped me when I asked them something and they were both Turks. For me that is very important. They asked me where I was coming from and when I answered I was Greek they got excited and I understood that they like us too.
I want to say something to someone above who wrote that greek people doesn't like anyone else.I believe that he doesn't know anyone from Greece because we are very friendly and greek people have helped a lot of other countries when they needed our help.Greek people is always in the side of poor because greek people can't stand the unfairness. If you don't believe me you can open some history books. The only bad with us is that we love our country very much(but is not so bad,how can anyone who lives here not to love this country?)

As most people have said, one canot generalise on behalf of an entire nation, as Ronald the Ignorant has done. The history of the tension between Greece and Turkey goes bach to when Greece was occupied by the Turks under the Ottoman Empire. The Greeks at the time were treated as slaves and forced to partake in the beliefs of the them Turks. This lasted for approximately 400 years, until the Greeks led a successful revolution against the ottoman turks and the modern independent state of Greece was formed in 1821. Thereafter, the Greeks and Turks had been invloved in border disputes up until the first world war. Then in the 60's, the Americans assisted a few colonels in Greece to seize power and set up a military dictatorship, as they feared the growing influence of the left wing. This dictatorship terrorised the Greeks for 5-7 years. It eventually collapsed when the Turks invaded Northern Cyprus. The reason they invaded was due to the fact the the colonels wanted to unite Greece and Cyprus, hence the Turks feared a Greek military dictatorship and invaded half the island. Only an idiot can blame one side and not the other. Both sides play some sort of role in the tension. Today, there is still tension, as the Turks claim certain part of the Greek Aegean sea are theirs, and penetrate Greek-airpace in order to test the reactions of the Greeks. The Greeks react and so both sides get involved in mock 'dogfights' in the air (airforce jets). The thing is however that the people have no problem with each other. The problem is that the repsective churches and idiot fanatics get involved, the Turkish military constantly disobeys their ow government (as recent tension between their generals and prime minister shows) and at times our respective politicians do not have a clear stance when it comes to our bipolar relations. The future between our 2 countries will be very interesting, especially now that Turkey is applying for EU membership and Greece is an EU member now for the past 15 years. Hopefully we will find peace and both sides will realise that we have more to gain by being friendly neighbours rather than declaring war and losing on all fronts.

I am greek, I don't like Turks for many reasons.
1. Historical reasons:
They had been a big problem for the greek nation. Turks destroyed a huge part of our civilization with the fall of the Constantinople. That kept us away of progress for some centuries.
2. National reasons:
Turkey wants today half of the Aegean Sea which always had been populated by greeks (Aegean is the cradle of the greek civilization)
Turkey claims that the human rights for the minority muslims of Thrace are being abused. Meanwhile Turkey succeed to send away the minority of greeks in Cosntantinopole. Also in Turkey the human rights of other minorities are been abused (Kurds)
Turkey invade Cyprus and took over half of the island.
3. Social reasons :
Turks are muslims, they are 65 million, they are asians and cause trouble wherever in europe they go. If they enter the EU they will be able to travel to Greece without visa, live and work there. Greece is just 10 millions, if they start coming peacefully they will take over Greece because they are more.
We had a revolution in 1821 to get rid of them and be free. We created a new Greece from the ashes of the old world. We can't forget all of the struggle and open our country to those turks. We will loose Greece once again if we do it.

While in college, I met many Greeks and Turks. We were getting along very well and kept our friendship. We have been neighbors for centuries and there is a lot of mixing among us! Let us not forget that even Mohamed, the conqueror of New Rome (Constantinople then and Instampul now) was half Turk (by his Turk father) and half Greek (by his Greek mother). He knew both languages, most of his consultants were Greek, even most of his army were Greeks.
Now, the generals in Turkey and the church in Greece promote the hate by brainwashing the people! The thinking people see that uniting the people would result in great lives!

Some Greeks & some Turks both claim that there's no hatred between them and they say the governments and politicians cause problems.
Some Greeks openly declare they don't like Turks (as seen above) and they give the reasons for that.
ONLY THE MERE FACT that they take some much time and effort to tell their reasons to disllike each other IS ENOUGH of a reason to prove that there's a hatred and tension going on for so long.
And some Greeks -those who claim that they are the most rational and peaceful- get to blame some others 'as ignorant'.
Doesn't this fact speak for itself?
When you dig it deep you'll see that
* Greeks don't like Bulgarians
(with some good reason of course)
* Greeks don't like Germans
(with good rasons of course)
* Greeks don't like USA and Americans
(with good reasons of course)
and this list goes on and on.. and you ask 'WHY?' they either call you ignorant and try to convince you you are wrong
(and in fact only to prove that they are liars)
or they (these are the honest Greeks in fact) tell yo they dislike Turks OPENLY.
Thanks to the Greek friend who openly tell his reasons why he dislikes Turks. He probably deserves 10 pts for best answer

Hello dear Neda!
Sorry to disagree with you! Greek and Turkish people is not that they do not like each another, but the politicians are designing confronting politics and show the people are opposite!
People everywhere are he same, have same problems and ways!
Brainwashing is making people thinking opposite to others and support ideas mostly without knowing the real reasons!
