learn the basic ratios thoroughly
sinx=opp/hyp; cosecx=1/sinx=hyp/opp
cosx=adj/hyp; secx=1/cosx=hyp/adj
tanx=opp/adj ; cotx=1/tanx=adj/opp
then the trig identities
sin^2x+cos^2x=1
1+tan^2x=sec^2x
1+cot^2x=cosec^2x
then the compound angles formulas
sin(A+B)=sinAcosB+cosAsinB
cos(A+B)=cosAcosB-sinAsinB
tan(A+B)=(tanA+tanB)/(1-tanAta...
then the ratios of multiple and sub multiple angles
sin2x=2sinxcosx
cos2x=cos^2x-sin^2x
tan2x=2tanx/1-tan^2x
sin3x=sin(2x+x)=sin2xcosx+cos2...
cos3x=4cos^3x-3cosx
tan3x=(3tanx-tan^3x)/(1-3tan^2...
then the tables sin0=cos90=0;sin90=cos0=1;sin3...
sin45=cos45=1/2^1/2;sin60=cos3...
tanx=sinx/cosx
if you are thorough with these basics then it will be a pleasure to do sums in trigs

Trig is accually not the study of triangles,, it's the study of the unit circle,, try to picture in your mind the radius slowly moving around the circle and then think of the radians it's clocking off and the legs of a triangle that are created at each point. math is eiaslly repersented by mechanical systems,, even in your mind. at any point, in your mind, calculate the sine, cosine and tangent of each possition. once you get this down,, the rest is super easy.

Practice, practice, practice. I'd suggest finding study guides and sample problems. Even working with problems already solved by you works. I've always seen math as playing an instrument, you only get better with practice.

Just keep reminding yourself that trig is nothing but the study of triangles. Don't let the form over impress you. It's just trig.
