I am 3 months pregnant and I have the same prob. The Doc says the pain is intestinal ....we are putting more weight on our stomaches and it creates a cramp. It is in fact safe if you are comfortable and before the 6th month, and it all depends if you are on a bed, or on a wood floor. Take my advice,,,when it hurts dont do it...And fyi it is more dangerous to lay on your back ...It cuts off the blood flow to baby in the later stages of pregnancy.. Good Luck!!! and God Bless!!

The baby is in a liquid filled sac. This will not hurt it. But, it might hurt you, so don't do it if it is uncomfortable. You also might want to have a pillow under your stomach when lying on your side.

If it hurts don't do it - I slept on my belly for the first 24 weeks but then got too big and found it uncomfortable
