i would like to know wht would happen if we remove a pen drive while it is being read from the usb portt???? or is it necessory to make sure tht it is safe to remove the external hard disk /pendrive/flash drive b4 pluging it out of the usb port???? else wht happen???

you not only harming your flash, but the data on it also..

while you are using your flash then some data are copied into computer memory and removed from flash to update this data (Ie: word document) when you remove the flash without make sure its safe, then this data is lost, and the Files Table on your flash will be damaged, in in electronic devices also, why you must turn off your TV before you discconect its power cord??

because when you turn it off, it will empty all electricty from it, especially from some condensors that feed Chips, and its the same in USB flash disk

about the harddrive, the problem is much worst, you know that thier is a head away from the cyinlder around 0.00001 cm, when you disconnect it you risk the chance that the spring holding this head will leave at immediately which cause that head to touch the cylinder, which may damage it
