There are several: try googling house protection spells. Find the one that fits your situation best. Remember, when you use someones spell you take in some of the energy that THEY meant for it. Make it your own change something to make it fit YOU.

Well, first there are more practical remedies, such as burgalar alarms.
Additionally, you can ward the apartment/house/whatever. I use various bindrunes I've crafted to ward various locations. The sourced image is a fairly useful bindrune for this purpose, but you'd probably be better off designing your own. It's not going to be very potent unless you understand the meaning behind the runes.
Draw the bindrune on a sheet of paper. Keep the paper inside the building. Ground & center. Charge the paper. Manipulate the energy so that it encompasses the apartment or home. As long as it's somewhere near where you can see it, it will retain its charge. Otherwise, you may have to recharge it. Also, recharge it if you spend a prolonged time away from home.

So what you basically need is a warding, ne? I mainly practice herbal magick so to that end, there is a long list of herbs that can be put together in a bottle to make a lovely charm. For fun, here's a handful or so. If you have an herbal shop you can easily find these or even sometimes in a good market. Basil is a good herb to place beneath a door mat. Cinnamon is lovely when sprinkled around your property (also good for ants, I learned that to protect my beehives). Fennel, Garlic, Ivy, Mandrake, Marigold (there's a reason it's a popular plant along front yard walk-ways), rosemary, and sunflowers just to name a few. Also, Aloe, Yew or some other spikey plant under windows can be great for obvious reasons. Anyway, a good book for beginners in protective magick is 'Silver's Spells for Protection'. I usually give my students a copy to study.

There are several methods you can employ to protect your home. You have received several good answers.
You didn't say if you were Pagan or not. A spell is simply a prayer with tools. Ask for your family and home to be protected. Imagine your home in a white bubble of safety and security. Place a small mirror in the corner of a window facing out.
Blessings )O(

There are tons of bindrunes, blessings, ect... Before you try a magical solution, try the physical ones first. Alarms, well lighted conditions, start a neighborhood watch. Then look for blessings to back them up.
If you were sick would you start to pray and chant first or go to the doctor? Your neighborhood is the same. It has a Body, suffers illness, and has solutions that help in the same way going to a doctor helps your body.

(protection from ALL harm)
Take a mason jar and put pins, needles, razor blades, cactus spines, rose thorns, broken glass, etc. in it. Prick your finger and let at least 3 drops of your blood into jar (this binds the jar to you). While making the bottle concentrate your thoughts on what you are doing. add water to it and seal it well. Dig a hole and put it in it and say:
"Lord of Life, Lady of Light -
Join me here for this rite
I have made this bottle for my protection
According to ancient ways and tradition.
Direct all harm sent my way -
To this grave I make today.
Return it three fold to the send -
And let my life ever be better
Open my ears to hear and my eyes to see
As I will, So Mote It Be!"
Bury the bottle but don't break it...you can write down your prayer or incantation and wrap it around the bottle before burial.

you could try a protection spell.they say candle magic is the most powerful.light a white candle and say something like protect this house and all who live here.or use your own words.but don't say anything that will harm others because it will come back to you and your family times three. or you could get some window and door alarms.they will go off if they are being opened

You could try a sand trap: fill a jar with sand with sand while visiualizing your family and home safe. After jar is full place it outside your front door in a flowerbed or just on the sidewalk.

As a practical Pagan, I agree with both Morningstar 2651 and IndyT. There is an old Muslim proverb that goes: "Trust in Allah, but tie up your camel." Words to live by.
