I have always thought that it was one great big lie. But it is the people that fight for that image of goodness and fairness and freedom for all that make America worth anything at all.

Up until about 25 years ago, I think we still had potential and still ruled and kicked butt like some people still think we do....but...

For the past 25 years, I really *really* think we've just plain lost our minds. Or our consciences, or something.

We just plain let Big Business dictate everything in our lives and don't stand up to them at all in the slightest...and we do much the same for Big Evangelical and Fundamentalist Religion....and between the two, we've *willfully* let a lot of great things about our nation go completely to rot and ruin, like our healthcare, public school system, our cities, our roads, our national parks, our research, development and science.....

It's like our Media has become too effective in *drilling* the latest CEO-class propoganda into our skulls and now some 90% of the population has Stockholm Syndrome and can't *imagine* how they aren't free, won't imagine a life where they don't suck up to their abusers every day....

We've become a nation of appeasers. We appease Big Oil, Big Banking, and Big Religion every stinking day even though they are *ruining* all our lives, and for what?

So the richest 20% of the population, at best, can take all the damn money, run off to China, and leave our nation a big honking mess, just like they left New Orleans post-Katrina. That was the Beta Test for the future folks. That is what our *whole* nation will be like in less than ten years if we do NOT wake the hell up.

As in, no jobs, no infrastructure to speak of, riots and looting every day, people dying of thirst and starvation and exposure to the elements every day, military occupation every day, health care that barely covers getting a broken arm *x-rayed* and does NOT cover getting it properly set and splinted so it can HEAL.

Really. We're losing it and most folks don't even care. They see it coming and just REFUSE to give a damn about anyone but themselves. Why? Because the Rich Men and the Media they own tell them to. Because they *want* to stay on that Plantation and BE the Good 'lil Ditch Digger.....

Just my ten cents, my two cents is free....

It's a great country & I'm fortunate to have been born here. One only has to travel to other countries to see how lucky they are to live in such a great place. Does the USA have problems? Yes, but so does every other place on earth. We have opportunities that a lot of people on this earth will never have & for that I'll be eternally grateful.

I do believe that the USA is one of the best countries to live in. This is the land of the free and endless opportunities. It does not matter what other people think. To me this is a great nation and I hope that we all can see that someday. Good luck.

The best country on the world, because if I'm still on my old country, I don't have money to buy any video game consoles. On my old country, many people can not go to school because they don't have money to give to the teachers, but any way U.S.A. is rocks.

I have always liked it, and have traveled to other countries to compare it too. I think out border rules are to loose, and we help too many other countries and there are times when we should mind out own business.
