Hard to name a favorite, there were so many and they were all such good fun!

King of the Castle
Simon Says
Mother May I
Ice Skating game - Whip the Tail (Everyone hung on to the hand of their neighbor and we all twirled like one long whip until the last person lost grip and was flung into the bank of snow beside the ice pond that we were skating on.)

Red Rover, Red Rover, Send (name) over! (Two teams who all held hands tightly in a long line and each team took a turn of calling over someone from the other team who had to run as hard as they could and try to break through the held hands of two people in the opposing team.)

Hide 'n Seek

Cowboys and Indians

Cops and Robbers

Another one, I can't remember the name of it. We had two teams who went on either side of our house (front and back) and threw a softball over the roof to be caught by the other side and then they would throw it back. Many broken windows were caused by this game!

So much fun back in the old days, eh?

ECREAM's game called Spud sure sounds fun, though I had never heard of that one!

Now, reading some of the other answers here, I also remember Freeze Tag and Red Light/Green Light.

Thank you for the memories by asking this question!!!

My favorite was definitely hide and go seek tag. It combined the thrill of hiding in your own little spot hoping you won't be seen with the fast-paced antics of a good game of tag. I always loved it when my cousins would come over, because that meant there would be at least 4 people, so the game would be more fun.

Statue! Remember that? Each team consists of two players. On Go one player takes his partner's hand and swings her round, then lets go of her hand. The swung player's momentum takes her where it will, then she must freeze in that position. If a player loses her balance and breaks the freeze, that team loses.

And I LOVED to play jacks! I could play it for hours.

Mess With huge Brother Cousin Sleep Like Kitty Cat 'Mess With' replaced into performed with my male cousin who replaced into about 6 years older than me. i did not have any bros of my own, so I messed with him lots, and he replaced into continuously relaxing because he needed to play. in many situations it replaced into jab him contained in the ribs, run as a options out contained in the community streets as i could get. Oh for sure he knew all too nicely i could ultimately wander out into the open, the position he'd sneak up and get me back. Oh, recommendations... 'Sleep' is fairly glaring; run up a tree, a wall, even with, and take a snooze. Winner is who sleeps on the utmost, maximum atypical position and the longest.

either a game called spud, everyone gets a number one person throws a ball in the air and yells out a number that person has to catch the ball yell spud then take three big steps and hit the person with the ball. I also like RCK (run catch and kiss) you run after a girl catch her and give her a kiss. I also enjoyed when my mom would give us chalk and we would draw on the sidewalk.
