i went to italy once and i was there for about a week or two. most of the people are pretty open and casual about alot of things. their lives seem to be emcompassed with living it. they play hard and work kind of easy. i saw the leaning tower of pisa and was pretty disapointed. it was like ghetto all around the area where the tower was. they also don't have toilets like we do. the public restroom i went to was a hole in the floor. you had to lean on the wall in a crouched position. not a good trip but at least i can say that i was there. if you want to go it is worth the trip but don't get your hopes too high.

oh, its great... i've been in italy many times and will go back even more! its great scenery, great cities, great architecture, great food (!!!) and easy living! everything is a bit improvised and often chaotic but its very charming! and it's great for shopping too! if you should visit italy: don't go to the touristic places - thats not the real thing. go to the smaller places! you won't regrett a visit...

It is la dolce vita from what I understand. They also have more political parties than you have hairs on your head.
