If they practice safe sex, who are they bothering? Seriously?

Isn't that better than giving it away for free?

Sex workers are against the laws of most religions, and since religions ruled (or still largely rule) most countries, they affected the laws and the basic moral systems of the people in it.
Its very difficult for people to change, and the ideas we get from our parents are simply passed on to us. It might take a good view generations for a families views to turn from conservative to liberal.
Also because sex workers arent usually bothered whether their clients are married or not, their generally seen as the "home-wrecker", despite it actually not being their fault if a partner is unfaithful.
It's just strange how human psychology works I guess.

Sex trades are illegal in North America and many countries throughout the world. This gives the entire practice a negative stigma.

If prostitution were legalized this might change perceptions and keep prostitutes and Johns safer.

Personally, I'm torn on the subject and see both sides, BUT I do think it's worth looking into whether a solution like that could be made.

It would take drugs, pimps, etc. out of the mix. But then again, do we want the government to make money from it?

I do know a lot of people get upset when prostitutes hang out on the corner of their neighbourhoods soliciting for customers.

Sex workerss spread disease, its a known fact. Not by thir own doing alone but by the people that pay them for their service. Even in legalised brothels no matter how much screening the workers have for disease there is no stopping a customer coming in off the street who has a sexually transmitted disease. Therefore the known Fact in this is that DISEASE can not be controlled.
Secondly there is a sex slave trade , whereby people are forced into sex slavery either underage and to pay off debt . Their passports taken off them by their so called pimps and forced to live in horrible conditions. Therefore SEX SLAVERY can not be controlled.
Thirdly and the most important is the social effects. Could you imagine if it was socially acceptable? A married couple having a minor disagreement over something so small . The husband gets angry and storms out , straight down to the local sex worker to let off some steam.

He comes back after having sex with an underage sex slave who has a sexually transsmitted disease only to have make up sex with his wife!

Thats why noone likes sex workers!

Is sex worker the new name for prostitute?

A wife will dislike a prostitute only if her husband spends money on the hooker that he should be paying towards the utility bill.

The public doesn't like them because they exhibit a lack of self respect, a disinclination to work for a living, and because many of them use drugs and turn their earnings over to a low life pimp.

Hey, didn't I see you on Maury testing 14 guys trying to find the father of your kid? Maybe he will be in the next batch of 14.

Nevertheless, if you are going to throw it around, you might as well get paid for it.

maybe they just feel that they should treasure their bodies more and let it be a mystery. don't know. if a person wants to exploit there bodies like that and show the world all that they have and leave none to the imagination then let them do that. its only a matter of morals, so if the person exploiting themselves have no morals, hey let it be. maybe some are jealous of that. no i don't think so. some are just concerned that the workers in the sex field are doing a little too much

well I am not a sex worker, and I do not hate them at ll. the truth is i think it is OK for them to get paid, so there's lots of women there making sex with lots of different man , then coming to Maury Show , testing 10 men aND none of them is father, that is makes me wonder, what do they gain those women a child without a father,a nd sex with many man , which become to my attention that it wasn't safe because they become pregnant. they can call sex worker whore's , I think at least sex worker they are working then those women coming to Maury show , without knowing who is they dad's father is.

Its all about cultural taboos.
Its not so much about safe sex but the unsavoury nature of their job.
It goes against conservative family values (not that I am conservative) and its always looked upon as something indecent and sordid.
I am sure those girls are decent people but that's not how society views them.

because they seem to be shallow and without any real feeling....
they practice save sex, but also fake sex , that's the deal. Many people like them, because they are easy to handle and they want nothing except your money ;-)

Religious prudes don't think it's enough that they act a certain way... they want to force other people to act the same way too. Religious prudes then have the rest of the people hoodwinked.
