Yes, of course you could, but they need to sort out 2 things to make it functional:

1/ Power - the implant could be
- battery-operated, needing you to replace it occasionally - new hi-tech (but for the moment too unstable) batteries could last for months at a time.
- Rechargeable - this could be via a proximity/induction recharger, or a little plug.
- Bio-auto-powered - somehow use the charge which the body's cells carry around.

2/ An interface:
- some kind of HUD, but ultra-tiny
- direct neural interfacing - the stuff of fantasy....

Possibly. But if that happened, you may just be exposed to computer viruses (far fetched, I know). I think that's one reason that people aren't up to creating cyborgs. How much would that suck to get all this cool gear installed only to be hacked into and killed or controlled?
