No. Urin is purified by the body, so drinking it will have no negative affect on the body. However, there is no scientific evidence that is has a positive affect. So, it is in no way necessary, though some cultars have been doing it for thousands of years.

ru nuts! urine is the last thing to drink! urine is noting but poision from you body. it can make u very ill and land u in a hospital or in a casket 6ft underground!

It is only needed if you have know other option. Many people in WWII survived that way because they run out of water. Its clean and drinkable, although its probably not the most appetizing thing there is.
