yes in a mild way. But when you get to the real bottom, being a democrat means that you support leftist ideals. And leftist ideals do not support religion at all.

Think of socialism. The final product of socialism is communism and in true communist society, there is no room for religion. China, USSR, North Korea are good examples of this. If you apply the democrat principles of being leftist, in the real end, you will have two conflicting ideas.

Democrats ideals and ideas taken to the extreme is socialism. Hence christianity will not be tolerated.

But just to let you know, NeoCons are no different than Trotsky supporting leftists. Needless to say those that support zionism are leftists too. So DO NOT be fooled into thinking that republican/democrat represents true images of what they are. Being a rep/dem is just an avatar. Many people in the government are closet/crypto socialists. But then again, if you had power, and wanted more power at your disposal, wouldn't God be the first thing you would want to rid? Since God would be the governor and limiter to your conscience and deeds.

I think if you examine almost any nominal Christian's positions you will find they have taken a smorgasboard approach to everything the Judeo-Christian tradition embodies, and even add some things the Bible never directly addresses, like abortion. I am least impressed by Christians who think abortion is murder and abortionists should die for it, but thousands of civilians killed in war declared on lies/bad intelligence is just unfortunate, and the leaders involved are not held accountable by them, or are even praised by them and cheered on.

Moreover, the notion that Democrats as a whole support homosexual union is simply Grand Oil Party propaganda. Learn the difference between "tolerance" and "approval." Support for gay marriage is not now and has never been a plank of the Democratic Party. I would also point out to you that the Republicans have controlled the White House, the House of Representatives, the Senate and the Supreme Court for six years and have done nothing about their rabel-rousing issues of gay marriage, flag burning, abortion, 10 Commandments in schools and courtrooms, etc. They have and continue to use these issues cynically to inflame the fundamentalists, but they have not and clearly don't intend to deliver on any of these things.

In case you haven't noticed, Democrats haven't been in charge for six years. Democrats can't even move a bill out of committee or even get it on the committee schedule. So if you think such things should be a matter of law, then blame yourself. Your guys are in charge and have been for six long and unfortunate years, and all they have to show for it is a 9 trillion dollar debt ceiling and a much improved Halliburton stock price.

Are you suggesting that Jimmy Carter, former President of the United States, is not a Christian and a Democrat? What kind of right-wing propaganda are you swallowing? What's so bad about socialistic ideas? The ultimate in capitalism is the Mafia. Think about it, they are a business that operates without paying taxes, without government control and they provide services that the market craves (drugs, gambling, prostitution etc.....) Concepts that Republicans hold high and dear. Apparently republicans never learned the lesson behind Jesus chasing out the money changers in the temple. Jesus was a left-wig, liberal, long haired freak. Conservatism pays homage to the establishment and status quo. In Jesus day, that was the Roman government, Cesar and in Israel, Judaism. His message was one of change: the very definition of being a Liberal. (Look up the definition of "Liberal".) The Republican Christians of today are the very same kind of people who voted to have Jesus crucified.

Oh, puh-leeze. Just because Bush says he's Christian doesn't mean he's Christ. Read your bible instead of listening to the rhetoric, you might find the differences enlightening. Most of the people who say that they're Democrat and Christian do so because they actually pay attention to little things like the 10 Commandments - you know, "Thou shalt not kill", "Thou shalt not lie", "Thou shalt not covet", all those things that the Republicans have been doing with merry abandon for quite a few years now.

Thats a Fallacy! Nascar Christians do more evil and discriminate in the name of God. There are BILLIONS of dollars being mismanaged in Iraq and thousands are being killed for Oil. Where is the Christianity in that. Jesus was about acceptance and love. The right wing wackos that claim to be Christian are some of the scariest people because they will harm under the guise of doing good. Jesus spoke about feeding the poor and loving your neighbor. Jesus would puke at todays so called Chrsitians with hatred in their hearts.

How can a person claim to be christian and republican? It is impossible?
Christ taught love, kindness and mercy! He would have never supported the killing of anyone much less children and women!
Democrats are against the war and killing of innocent people!
Democrats are more christ like!

no they can't...but they can be a twisted Christian...

1But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them.

And you say its impossible because? Why cant you supply facts? Could it be because you dont' have any?

I am. A born again one too. Deal with it.

And to disparage someone or a group of people about their being Christians is that what you are taught as a Christian to do? I haven't.

How can a person be conservative and dump on the poor?
Why do the conservative Christians, and I use that loosely, think they are God and they should judge other people.

Just your stupid question should be evidence enough you aren't a Christian!
