From a sci-fi action perspective, I thought Reloaded was the best. The interstate highway chase, the fight with all of the Agent Smiths, and the brief scenes with Daniel Bernhardt (a gifted martial artist) made it visually stunning. And Monica Belluci is such a fox. Of course, I give the original the edge for being just that, "original".

First one--hell, watching the first _Matrix_ movie was nearly a religious experience for me. *lol* :) The second one was all right, don't get me wrong, kung-fu action films are good, but the first one had more of a brain and a bit of a heart to it that the others didn't have.
The third one, I didn't get to see before others *WILLFULLY* spoiled it for me (granted, the spoilers were of the Drunken Frat Boy type, but still....I *so* wanted to smack these guys. If there hadn't been five of them blathering on at once I would have), so yeah, it wasn't a good deal....
Still, the first one was the best, definitely. The other two are just movies, the first one...I daresay it was art in spite of the lack of Keanu's acting skill....

The Matrix, the other two sequels were largely special effects driven crap. However the first movie was mind blowing in its story concepts and special effects. A benchmark that equals Terminator and Star Wars in stature.

The first movie's the best, because to me, seeing it for the first time in theaters was the only awe-inspiring experience I've ever had at the movies, so far. I'm one of the few people who liked the sequels (I still don't understand the hate behind them), but nothing compares to the first movie.

Revolution, it covers in-depths about the matrix and the programs.
The 1st one purely tells us about the matrix and of it's existence. The last one tells us about the war between the machine and human and the conclusion. Animatrix tells us the history of the matrix.

I liked the first one the best. It had the best storyline. They got progressively worse in the second and third movies.

i also like the first one best. i thought it was a cool idea, even tho it was a bit like The Terminator. as for the rest. what can i say that hasn't already been said. should have quit while they had some dignity left.

The first film by FAR. I feel the sequels were just too much, and strayed away from the first film.
