How can people be so hateful? There are words of hate in almost every topic page about every type of person. Gay, Straight, White, Black, Mexican, Asian, whatever...we are all human beings and we are all in this world together. Why can't we all just get along. How do people feel that it is ok to express such horrible feelings? Don't they see how awful these thoughts make them?

I totally agree here, people are so busy trying to get in everybody's bussiness, and making a big deal out of who you are and who your with,i guess their own life is just so boring. Why can't we all live together in harmany, and be happy for our neighbor,if they are happy.People don't realize how hurtfull word's can be.I myself can get along with anyone, their race has nothing to do with it,we are all human, born into the same world, trying to get through life in the same manner.I wish i was living in a city where we all felt like we do here.

How true.

I will give you my theory. When people don't understand something, they get a little scared. Maybe a lot scared. When they get scared, they either act like the person/situation doesn't exsist, or they confront it.If they confront it, they tend to get angry and mean. Why? Because they have gone on the defensive.

I call this Willfull Ignorance, and it's my biggest pet peeve. If you don't understand something, try and understand it. You might not like it, you might not agree with it, but at least understand it enough to know what you're talking about.

I know it's sad, and wrong...and people are entitled to feel how ever they wish. But instead of either just keeping their mouths shut, or expressing their veiwpoints in a civilized and intelligent manner, they just lash out. This just proves their ignorance and laziness.

They don't see these thoughts as being hateful and awful. They see them as their god given right to tell people exactly what they think (I use the term loosly) and feel.

It can be very hard to deal with, but the best way to combat the hate is to give as much love to the world and to ourselves as possible.

Thanks for posting a serious question. Every where you go there will be hate, either in the gay community or in the straight community. There will be racists out there, there will be homophobes out there as well. Its the way the world is, its the way religion has brought people to be this way.

People who show hate either on the Internet or in the real world are just showing how horrible they are, and they will live with that bad feeling inside, and in the end it will bite them back in the ***. Then they'll be thinking twice about every calling a gay person a fag, or a black person a racist name.

I agree, its really sad the level of intollerance humans have with each other...

I know that by being around such negativity and hatred it can cause someone who is not usually hateful at all to end up right in the middle of it.... There are days I spend too much time on this site and find myself making just as rude and hateful comments as alot of others are... Its then I know Its time to take a break and surround myself with positive interactions untill I can return and be level headed again...

hate breeds hate...

Right. You would think that people who have such hateful feelings would either get serious help, or just keep it to themselves. I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but you will just look like an *** sprouting stupid hate!!!

I totally agree. I think we're made to feel that way. We're manipulated through our fear of the different and unknown. If they tell you that the others are our enemies, we will most likely not even take the trouble to learn it's not true.

But I don't think the worst thing is expressing those feelings. The worst thing is having them.

Oh how I wish I were surrounded 24/7 by the kind of wonderful people who've answered this question.

I'd get down on my knees and beg for that.

I find it very sad to see the many expressions of hatred/ prejudiced and fear that comes out of people on Yahoo questions. It has caused me to look within even deeper, because I want to be an instrument of peace and not ignorance. Thanks for bringing attention to this regular topic on this venue!

People feel insecure about themselves and the increasingly diverse world evolving around them. They are scared and react with hate.

PREACH!!!! I feel you ever so much. I wish we could all just make love and live life without problems. We should stop judging people. Why should my orientation or skin color matter? Just let us be ourselves.
