It is considered faster than average. My baby was saying quite a few things at this age, and my Doctor said it was early. But, all babies develop at their own rate. I think you should just enjoy your baby and not worry when she does something a little more slowly than average, or get TOO excited when she does something much earlier than average. Remember: Average just means the middle ground. Some babies do it sooner, some later. The most important thing is your baby is your baby. And, therefore, the most perfect little being for you is in your arms!!!

Sounds normal to me. My son has been saying dada for about a month now (he's 8 months) The mocking thing is normal too, some people would say that they are learning this way, others would say that this is a game for them. When I stick my tongue out at my son, he does the same to me and then giggles. I should stop the tongue thing before he makes a habit of it. But it's all normal.

my daughter was very advanced as the dr put it she was rolling over at 2 months crawling at 4 months and she also said dada at 7 months walking at 9 months so i would say it is very normal and you have a very smart child!! good luck with her before you know it she will be 21 months like mine and all over the place and in to everything!!

My son is 3 yrs old now but at 9 mos his first word was "hot". I have a girlfriend w/a son the same age as mine and he just started talking. So, I believe noone can truly tell you what's average or not.
Seeing your child grow and learn is a wonderful feeling. My advice is keep feeding your child all the knowledge you can, and read to her.

It sounds as if your little daughter is very intelligent!
My oldest daughter was very advanced too.She was pulling herself up in her crib & saying mama & dada,at 5 mos.
She was walking alone at 9 mos.& trying to use the big commode.By one yr.she was sucking the meat right off a chicken leg!
I never bragged or reported it to the world records, but I believe yours & mine are advanced for their ages!

Don't read into things like that. Einstein could barely speak before he was six. I can't, and don't, want to imagine what having a kid would be like at this stage in my life. Just enjoy it and do the best you can.
