You could always try a hosting service free online or use something like Streamload. Create an account, upload your file email your friend the Streamload username and password and let them download it. It's simple.

Or, you could always try YouTube, Yahoo! Video or Google Video and let them watch it online. If it's private just set up the viewing parameters to control access.

www.yousendit.com is pretty handy to send a big file.

Just 7 days before expiration, and 3 downloads authorised from the link. Still useful

I think gmail has a higher limit, but you have to get someone to invite you.

You could try zipping it, but you probably won't get it down to 10 MB. I don't know of many other good free ways to do this. You could break up the file, but the recipients would have to recombine it. You could try to lower its quality. If you only wanted to transmit it to a single person there are other options rather then email.

If you have a relatively fast connection, just send it over a messenger system. I know AOL messenger allows direct connections between 2 ppl to enable faster sending of files.

I send 100mb files over AIM all the time.

Another way is cut the file into pieces and rejoining them at the receivers end. Try the link below to discover how to do this. Good luck!

Go to "Sendthisfile.com" and upload it. The person you send the email notification can then download the link.
