I know that Warri is a port city in Africa but does anyone know the meaning of the city's name?

Yes, it is in Nigera, the Western Niger-Delta region (some on-going conflict going on there). Warri is also the name of a game.
I understand the word comes from the Ijo dialect and means "houses".
