we should get all the troops out of iraq and afghanistan,watch them cry for aid when their country has no law?

Do you really believe we should do this? This would mean that all the service personnel no matter what country they are from have died in vain! I do not support our governments in this but do 100% support our troops. We now must continue what we were committed to by our governments and try to stabilise these countries.

It's a problem. If America and Britain stays, people will die. If they leave, civil war will pro bally break-out and people will die. Either way, America will be blamed. However, with the troops out of Iraq, it will be easy for Americans and the world to forget about Iraq, just as the West has forgotten about the Congo (more than 3 million dead) and other conflicts.

It's a sad situation, but it may be time for America to admit can't bring democracy to Iraq any more than it can end the civil war in the Congo (it tried when Clinton was President).

At least with American out of Iraq the U.S. army will be free to focus on problems where they can make a positive contribution, such as the Sudan. Furthermore, Arab nations will no longer feel as violated by America as they do right now. The problems of Iraq will become an internal affair. Though Bin Laden will claim success in the short term, in the long run al-Qaeda will lose one of it's main recruitment tools, the American occupation of Iraq.

I feel sorry for the people of Iraq, but the situation isn't improving. Not all problems can be solved.

We cant do that. We cant walk in to a country, destroy any ability that that country had to support itseld (no matter what you think of the regime) and then just bugger off and let the country fall into total chaos.

What did you expect when the USA & UK went into these countries? Did you think we would just walk in, kill off a few "baddies" and then set up a nice government - who of course likes the west more than it does its neighbours?
These are hardy people. They are used to war, invasions and occupying forces. They know how to survive and will be there a long time after we leave.

Unfortunately we have gone down a road and we must follow it through to the end. The alternative would be to create even further instability in those countries with local warlords having even greater control. I could easily envisage an Iraq that could be divided forever if we left.

I must admit, I'm not sure we should spend so much of our time poking our noses into other peoples business. There's so much that needs sorting here. I always wonder about our real motives for sending troops out there, is there a hidden reason, such as greed or gain in some way? Should think money, power or greed of some sort.

I think you need to read more from reliable first-hand sources. There is law over there, and the humanitarian effort is meant to feed, house and assist those who suddenly have no home or food, medical access, etc..

Please remember that the United States had a Civil War.

It sounds to me like you are listening to your friends way too much and not actually reading the balanced, logical research-based reports that are being written.

Our troops joined the Army " to defend the Crown",not to be sent around the world, trying to help people who do not want assistance.-Iraq,Afghanistan,etc.
These people should sort out their own problems.As a tax payer I do not wish for the Armed services that I pay for to be used as a free police force for the rest of the world.
We have enough problems here in the UK,the troops could be used to patrol our points of entry and to assist the police.
Once we have sorted out our "Home Grown" problems we could then ask if anyone needs our help.-if they want to pay for it.

it isn't the Gov't, basically like the few scumbags interior the united statesA. that are helping them additionally. they do no longer look to be from the Gov't (possibly the DNC ;) ) yet they are giving to terrorist communities with out the permission of the Gov't and are breaking the regulation. Iran's Gov't is the single giving the money, coaching, manpower and weapons to the terrorists straight away. additionally Syria is doing it and that's what the U.S. Gov't claims.

it maybe to keep war off our shores, who knows? secret services are in place to protect our countries (wealth) take Somalia no one is rushing in there,why? because they have nothing to promote trade in the future if you stop the warring parties there. So ultimately it is for market share, or to stop other people taking market share that causes war. If the united states and England had nothing there would be no one trying to get in, no illegal immigrants etc. Do you see lots of illegals rushing into Poland, Roumania, Slovakia Republic, no only into the richer countries.

I totally agree that all our troops both British and American should leave.We went in with every good intention to help these people. Saddam is no more a threat to these people now,I thought everything would start to get better, BUT NO, they don't seem to want our intervention,they are killing our troops and they are killing our people at home.We have let terriorists into our homelands,who march in our streets calling bombers heroes, it's beyond belief. Withdraw our troops, seek out, regardless of the financial cost of finding and deporting these people.Both England and America have opened their doors to immigrants in the past to help them, but this particular act of kindness is only bringing death and destruction to both our countries.They don't want us there, let them get on with it. If they choose to kill one another that's very sad, but I don't think we should sit back and wait for the next terriorist attack on us for trying to help them.I don't know what the position is in American with regard to the amount of immigrants they have, either legal or illegal, but I do know we have more than our fair share. The British people are afraid for their lives, a position we haven't been in since WW2. We don't need these people in our country,they don't want to integrate with our society in any way.They want to carry on living as they did back in their own country.Half of them can't even speak English.They are draining all our resources, filling the houses that we need for our own people, taking our jobs. We areeven putting some of these immigrants and their families up in the top hotels in this country costing thousand of pounds every week.Most of the population would never get to stay in one of these hotels even for a week, because their too expensive, it's an absolute joke. They must be laughing up their sleeve at us English. I can just see them doing all this for us.Ha!These people have contributed nothing to this country except their terriorists,we must do something now,they have killed enough of our people,we were so lucky the airport plot was discovered before they were once again able to destroy the lives of thousands of people both English and American.The English people no longer know who they are living next door to,it's frightening.
Look at the amount of immigrants that fill our prisons, thieves,killers,rapists child molesters,terriorists.It cost us , the tax payers millions,we don't want them. We have taken so many immigrants in over the last lO years that now,there are no jobs,no houses,no finances to help our own people.
I was always bought up to make sure your own family are not wanting for anything,and THEN if there is anything over, by all means help someone less fortunate. Also there are too many immigrants in very influencial jobs, i.e. the Social Security,Immigration,Housing. Fancy putting an immigrant in charge of immigration!!!!an immigrant in charge of housing!!!and an immigrant handing out our money!!!F...... Hell.
We must defend ourselves and our families,or our children will have no future.We have teenagers on the Social standing about on street corners,taking drugs to try and make their lives seem better,they can't get jobs they see no future ahead of them. The number of youngsters committing suicide is growing rapidly.Old people are terrified to go out in the day let alone at night.Things will only get worse if we don't do something soon.Lets get rid of those who don't want to live decent lives as we do.This will make houses,jobs and money more available to our own , show our kids there is a future worth having in front of them.We were such a great powerful country,the decline is rapid, I truly despair of our future.
