I don't really believe that you are a bad person. I feel that you come from a strict family, and right was right and wrong was wrong. That there was no political correctness or as I like to say "Candy coat" it.
I believe that you are set strong in your convictions and that some would mistake that for being brash.
I also think that you are a bit like I am in the fact that you are astounded by some of the people and the questions they ask. This would be why you give some of the answers that you give.
You are probably tired of seeing the ridiculous questions and it really bothers you to think that these are Americans asking these questions. I know there are Many questions that I have to wonder about as well. I also wonder how some of them made it through High school...

It seems that the younger generation was never taught how to think for themselves. If it doesn't come from a book they are at a loss. Especially if there is no one to give them direction and they have little courage, incentive or desire or to try things on their own.

In conclusion I feel that society would benefit if there were more people like you and perhaps the general populous would smarten up a bit.

Keep on the way you are ! Never doubt yourself and if others don't like it, well that's just too damn bad...

:o)

I suppose your living too much in your ego, you close yourself down so that you dont have to deal with the emotion. You are suppresing childhood trauma. You have been sociologically labeled this from youth and now you believe its true. You permit yourself to be a ****** because you feel it suits you and you like the reaction you get. You have a learned behavior that has now left its imprint on your personality.

Well, you're obviously not in denial. You're quite self-aware, actually. Perhaps you shouldn't be asking the public why you think you're such an a**hole, but you should be asking yourself.
