Speaking from a neutral standpoint (i am asian) I must say that calling a white person a honkey isn't even close to the same level as using the n-word on a black person.
The REASON is this: The n-word has a much bigger, more ugly and horrific background, whereas cracker or honkey doesn't have any history.
But at the same time, if you're a white person and you feel offended by it, than you should voice your opinion. But by no means does it give you any right to use the n-word.

The "N" word is derrogatory, humiliating, degrading and sub-human because it stems from the days of slavery. "Cracker" is a relatively new term that is not associated with a past degradation of the white people. "Honkey" was a term used in the late '60's early '70's. Are people using this term again? Honkey surfaced back when LSD and bra-burning were at a peak in this country.
I would not say the "N" word if you are a white person, okay? You are de-humanizing a fellow human-being, and that is not what you would want for yourself.
Be very careful, lad.

The average african american person that uses derogatory slang it isnt well educated, the cultural and and socio economic problems that these people face although similair to ours, are slightly enhanced due mostly to the treatment they have recieved and the behaviour of the white man over the past 200 years or so,
these people are still largely seen as a minority by todays standards, still do not receive the same benefits as a white person does....and so when they use derogatory terms, by and large do not realise through lack of education, that they are continuing racism trends held for many years by other cultures, until people understand the error of their ways and learn tolerance of other cultures and religions, unfortunately these derogatory and hate incited ways will continue.....makes me sad to think that it doesnt leave much hope for the child of tomorrow, the best we can do is try to tech others that hating others for their culture, religion, race or sexuality is wrong in any form and hopefully they can and will learn from our mistakes.

Why do we have black heritage month? It would be racist to have white heritage month.
there are still some race issues this country needs to out-grow. Slavery and then racism up until the 70s has left a deep scar on this country. It will take some time to heal. In the mean time we have reverse racism. Now we have affirmative action, with is government systemactic racism against white men.
My guess is after time it will all balance out.

because black people think this is ok due to the enslavement their ancestors suffered years ago. Not that it in any way affects them, but it gives them a reason to cont. the hate. If Black people dont start realizing that this reverse rascism is hurting there own race even more, none of this will ever stop. Its really rediculous.
