Simply osmosis on a different scale. Matter flows toward an area where there is less of it in an area- seemingly nothing. Kinda sucks (pardon the pun). :)

In the classical sense, vacuum is nothing. However, a vacuum can be filled with something. In the case of electromagnetic waves electric and magnetic fields are filling the vacuum. Electromagnetic waves are self-sustaining magnetic and electric fields and do not need any medium in which to propagate.

Electromagnetic waves are the interaction of electric and magnetic fields as described by Maxwell's equations. These equations show that a time-varying magnetic field creates an electric field, and conversely, a time-varying electric field creates a magnetic field. The equations can be solved to derive the case in which the electric fields and magnetic fields vary in such a way that each creates the other in a self-sustaining interaction. When this is done, the result is an equation of a travelling wave that moves at the speed of 1/sqrt(e0*m0) in free space. e0 and m0 are electrical properties of space called permitivity and permeability. it turns out that the speed of light in a vacuum is exactly that value. This result was the convincing proof that light was electromagnetic waves.

You can argue that once electomagnetic waves enter a vacuum, it is no longer a vacuum but conains the energy of the waves.

the special property of the electromagnetic waves is to travel in vaccum.Light is an electromagnetic wave and it does not need a medium to travel.therefore it can reach us on earth.
Vaccum means a void.An empty space.if u suck out all the air from an empty tube and seal it immediately before any air can get in again then the space inside the tube is a void.it is empty.it has nothing in it..it is vaccum.

EM waves don't need air, or ether, to propogate. They figured that out in the 1800s with the Michelson-Morley experiments. That is why we can can see stars and such through the vacuum of space.

A perfect vacuum, with no atoms of gas or liquid, it pretty hard to achieve.

its simple
electromagnetic waves need no medium to propagate hence they jus move by
and
vaccum i s nothin that which has no matter

and about the vaccum others have answered well refer them

Radiation is particle matter given off by atomic reactions or atomic decay. All radiation, including light, is made up of different particles. These particles travel in a wave form, hence the "wave particle" theory of radiation.

The electromeagnetic can proagate through vaccuum as they do not need any material medium to travel .........
Think about the light we recieve from the sun, there is no air in outer space ,hence it is vaccuum but still we recieve the light.
