You get registered with an Internationally recognized bank like HSBC and start a credit card account - they will give you the web portal for accounting and a merchant ID for your self.

Contact ICICI bank (payseal) or UTI bank they do offer online merchant solutions but it will cost you a bomb and you are better off trying a US or EU link to secure the merchant account for you. Also you could try safescrypt.com which is run by SIFY I think.

my self I am a big fan of paypal all you need is a bank account and an email address and they do not charge you unless they process a payment for you and their rates are quite resonable
