I always thought that same thing... most of the time, the villain starts monologuing and that's where they screw up.

Because Villians are complex creatures... and who would want to read a comic or watch a movie where all the good guys just get shot in the head... In fact, they'd all be like that. Villians are cold and calculating. Muah ha ha ha!

Because.....any criminal off the street could shoot someone in the head. evil villains have a personal problem with the super hero and usually want some sort of revenge. This takes time and is complex.

Coz if they did then the hero would die and the movie is gonna have a sad ending where the superhero dies and the villian gets to rule the universe. Or maybe they tried already and it didn't work...

For the same reason that 20 bad guys miss the hero, but the hero can shoot all of them without re-loading his gun...in Hollywood's world, it makes sense as well as money.

well, if they just shoot them in the head, they wouldn't look smart. they need to look like evil geniuses, and not just by wearing funny clothing. if they shoot the hero in the head, the movie or plot wouldn't be very nice, would it? it would be funny, but not nice.. so it's better if they just sneak up behind the heroes, wrap them up in a plastic bag, and beat them to death with a bat. guns aren't very original.=)

If they just shoot the good guy in the head it would make for a very short comic book and the writers and publishers would make very little $$$ and soon go out of business.
It's all about ..."Show me the money!"

it would be too simple, you dont become an evil genuis/villain and then just "shoot" the hero. Alt the same time i think its a phsychological dilemma, i dont think they really want to win, killing the hero would end the game and the fun.

in some movies like unbreakable the hero is invincible. plus the movies would be shorter and wouldn't sell as much. but it would be nice cause it would make the movie unique and unpredictable.
