SimCity 3000 Help?

I have the SimCity 3000 Demo (which really sucks), but I need help. How do you make money off of your Sim people instead of spending all of your money building zones and roads?

If I remember correctly, museums near residential areas vastly increase the land value of the surrounding area. Higher land value means more tax revenue. So go nuts with museums.
