If you check with the Royal Egyptian Museum, in Cairo, there is a HUGE display devoted to Cleopatra. They have reconstructed some parts of her life, but they didn't have cameras back then, and even with the best forensic intervention, they aren't exactly sure what she looked like.
Maybe the fact that guys fell for her so rapidly had something to do with the fact that she was incredibly rich and powerful -- both aphrodisiacs for a lot of guys!
PS - she didn't look like Liz Taylor!

My son is a real history buff, and he said that more then likely any pictures, or statues of Cleopatra are more then likely down in the harbor in Alexandria. Her palace was leveled around the fourth century A.D. by a powerful earthquake as well. He has never heard of any pictures or statures of her that survived, but from records that they have of her she was short, and dumpy, with a large nose, and her talents in the bedroom were legendary.
She was also considered quite an intellectual in her day, and was well educated. She was quite powerful as well for a time, until Rome overthrew her government.

Photography had not yet been invented in Cleopatra's day, so no such photographs have ever existed.

Men didn't get out much back then so the Queen with her shiny robes and headresses probably made a big impression. That and all those sexy hieroglyphs of her too.

There are no pictures of Cleopatra. The only representation of her is on a coin. She wasn't pretty.
