Because if you do not support everything the morons of the expansionist Likud party do, then you are targeted for political defeat by the American Israeli Political Action Committee who will throw millions of dollars into a campaign against anyone that doesn't shout a hearty "Lchaim" every time Israel drops a bomb on someone. I fully expect within seconds of this post someone will call me an anti-semite, and if I were Jewish they'd accuse me of "self-hating", but America's strategic interests are not advanced by everything Likud does, and protecting Israel does not mean approving everything their right-wing nutballs do.

All this is because the USA wants the region to be always in sirupt and fighting. They don't care who is fighting against whom, as long as their interests are being met and they get what they want.
Oil is one of the major causes for this insane and although USA have oil reserve from what they buy and from what they steal, they want to have control over the remaining oil deposites in the arab countries.
Another thing is that as long as their is a state called Israel, there will be anarchy in the midlle east and this is happening in 2 levels. The intern of the arab countries where the people see that Israel is a real threat and that they must fight it, while their governments are not seeing the situation like that and have peace treaties with the "Jewish Enemy".
The other level is the realtionship between the arab countries with each others. Every country wants to fulfill their needs and achieve their goals regardless of the fact that they may be dealing with THE ENEMY. And as long as each one of these countries is not caring for its neighbours, there will be total disrupt in the relationship between these countries. And so there will not be a unified arabian position or attitude leaving the world for the control of USA to be the major or the only major country in the world.
Isreal, having the nuclear power, will threaten all its neighbours and keeps them silent agian fulfilling USA needs.

You have to understand the world as it is today. The USA is the "king of the hill" or the "top dog" or whatever you want to call it. USA = #1. Israel is USA's little buddy. UN is a political institution that the USA uses to order around other countries.
Since Israel is USA's friend, USA says it is ok for Israel to have nuclear weapons. Since most of the other countries in the middle east are on the USA's list of countries to take over, the USA says it is wrong for them to have nuclear weapons.
The USA wants to take those countries over because they have a lot of oil. In the past 5 years, the price of oil has tripled! In the next ten years, it will go up at least ten times as much. It's very valuable and the USA wants to control as much of the world's oil as possible.

2) Israel has nukes because it doesn't need them - they are there for the commies and terrorists when needed.
3) because they are a peaceful nation picked on by tyrants.

Everyone pretended they didn't exist for political reasons I believe! They were never confronted with them! Why! Have they used any?
The US starved too death 1/2 MILLION kids under 5 in Iraq with it's blockade!
There have been 1,761 Iraqi deaths in Iraq since Jul 1!
Why don't you get rid of Hezbollah, the terrorist arm of Iraq who live in and raid Israel from Lebanon!

Israel has had nuclear weapons for a long time and has never used them...i don't think Arab countries would do the same...and the Iranian president said...he wants to wipe Israel off the planet...that's a good enough reason for me and sane people...
