Non painful, quite hard. not red . I'm female

Sounds like a boil. That may have developed from an ingrown-hair that got infected. If it is a boil, it'll take a little while to go away. Boils are usally underneath the skin. Not on the surface.

I find that I get them round the same time I get my period. All it is
is a cyst. Some times they will come to a head, but if not, warm soaks on them helps.

are you a thick female? it may come from your thighs rubbing together lose some weight!
