Absolutely...let them be miserable like everyone else.

Seriously though...think about it. It's not a moral issue, like the jesus crispies and neo-cons would have you believe...its a financial one. Most politicians are at least partly in the pockets of the insurance companies. By giving homosexuals rights like heterosexuals, they would be financially accountable, depending on the policy, under law.

Using the bible to espouse garbage against it, is just ignorant...plain and simple. It has very little, if any historical significance, and only fosters more hate towards the subject. I'll play the game with them for a second though...doesn't Jesus preach love, not hatred? What's more beautiful than love, regardless of who the people in love are?

Yes, although the only reason would be because straight people are allowed to.

I was adopted by a gay couple and a trivial 15 minute ceremony would not have changed a damned thing about any of it.
I fail to see what the problem with gay marriage is and with the extremely high rate of divorce fail to understand what certain people are trying to defend.

It is my opinion that marriage should be kept in churches and casinos where it belongs.

I think so. When 2 people love each other, regardless of sexual orientation, and want to profess their love for each other through marriage, why stop it? Marriage is about commitment to one another. I find it sad that by outlawing same sex marriage, that we as a whole in society are saying that homosexuals can't love and commit to each other.

Lionheart: HIV/Aids is NOT most prevalent among gay men. It, however, is most prevalent among heterosexual women, specifically black women. This is NOT race bashing, but a medical statistic. Read up on statistics before making a generalized statement please. No offense meant.

*hoping the answer is "simple and easy to read"*

I don't think love is determined by the sex of a couple. If two men love each other, respect each other and want to marry, why should anyone oppose to that? People are always talking about how big a sin it is...well I know that if we as people sat down and documented everything we did in one day, we would be surprised how short we fall from Gods wall of grace.

Yes, If two people love each other. I have Gay friends that have been together longer than so called straight people. One couple 11 years, the other couple 22 years, yet they can not get married.

Yes, I do. Why can't they? After all, love is what make people want to marry the others anyway, straight or gay.

I'm a lesbian myself. However, the whole marriage idea is just a superstitious thing to me. I will consider myself being married to my partner (haven't found 1 yet) in my heart, and if she can feel it too, that'll be all I care for.

It would be very easy to take the moral high-ground and say, "No!"

From a Christian view-point the answer would again be "No".

But this is the 21st century and lifestyle ideas are changing. Their lifestyles maybe different, but hey, why not?

Yes, I think they should be able to get married. Love is always a wonderful thing, no matter who the people in love are.

Truth be told--no. This sure won't earn no best answer votes, but, it seems that there were two cities that tried this in historical times. You ever heard of Sodom and Gomorrah? Historically, they did exist, and, historically, they became salt pillars. Also, historically, a large part of the populace there were gay. Marriage is between a man and a woman--period.

for a person to be gay there is something wrong. either couldnt handle living a mans life. or they were to caught up in the womens lib to settle for a man.. they have serious pyscholigal issues. they dont need a wedding ring.. they need a councler..to look into thier past and see what strayed them that way..its an abomination in the eyes of god. its stated in all holy religions
