'A firestorm of controversy has erupted over a young woman who was denied emergency contraception after she said she was raped.

The victim's outraged mother spoke on camera for the first time with Lu Ann Cahn and the NBC 10 Investigators.

"The emergency room doctor in this case said it is against his religious beliefs to give out what has been called the morning after pill, even after a rape. The morning after pill is a high dose of birth control medicine that can prevent pregnancy."

The doctor should be fired and have his license revoked. As a doctor, esp one employed in an emergency room, he has no business denying care to anyone. The least he should be is fired.

When he decided to become an ER doctor, he knew that circumstances such as this were possible. Yet he took the position with the full intent of refusing to fulfill all the duties of the position. He should be fired, at a minimum, and his license should be suspended or revoked.

That is insane! I don't care what your religious beliefs are. The girl was raped. The doctor was clearly allowing his own beliefs to interfere with the emotional well-being of his patient....

Sad...
